Project Overview

Brauer & Associates, Ltd. has been working with the MPRB for several years on a host of planning issues centered around comprehensive planning. Jeff Schoenbauer is currently working with top management and a select planning team on building the agencies internal planning capacity and using the agency’s own staff to develop the system plan through a structured process. 

 

The overall planning process has consisted of two phases:

1) Organizational Development

2) Comprehensive System Planning

The first phase is being implemented and the second phase is now underway, with in excess of 10 internal working teams involved in the project.

Primary project challenges include:  

•    Transitioning the agency’s organizational structure to better service community needs in a fiscally responsible way

•    Reinvigorating the planning capacity of the agency to better understand and proactively address community needs

•    Developing a new system plan that places parks and recreational facilities where they are most needed to service community programs and services
