Project Overview: 

Washington County commissioned Brauer & Associates, Ltd. to prepare a master plan for Cottage Grove Ravine Regional Park located in the southern portion of the county. The park is 477 acres, with an additional 80 acres of land slated for acquisition.  The park offers a diversity of native plant communities and provides wonderful views of the great Mississippi River. 

Key objectives of the master plan include; protecting the park’s natural character and providing regionally-based recreation facilities to serve a rapidly expanding regional population center.

Recreational amenities included in the master plan are; a lodge and day camp area, extensive network of trails (nature, cross-country skiing, and mountain biking), a trail head center building and picnic areas, outdoor skills area, canoe launch area, and a children’s creative play area.

The master plan was completed in June of 2007.
