Project Overview:

Brauer & Associates, Ltd. worked with the city and adjacent residents to prepare a master plan for a small neighborhood park along Mirror Lake that was completely undeveloped and overgrown with undesirable species in many areas.  By working directly with the adjacent residents, a master plan was created that effectively created a usable and desirable park area.

The master plan incorporated a trail system that looped around the entire park through low, wooded areas, up along a restored prairie hillside, and through the neighborhood gathering area that contained a small gazebo with a few playground components.  An informal lawn area was also added for lawn games and neighborhood events. 

Even though there were many oppositions for developing this park at the onset of the project, enthusiasm for the final master plan was so overwhelming that the residents contributed funds to the project so it could be built immediately. 

The master plan was completed in 2002 and construction was completed in 2003.
