Project Overview:

The City of Minnetrista hired Brauer & Associates, Ltd. to work with the surrounding neighborhood and city officials to prepare a master plan for a neighborhood park that was located in a newer housing development and completely undeveloped.  Through an extensive public process, a master plan was created that provided much needed recreation for the surrounding neighborhood.  The main parking lot is off of Hunters Trail where a multi-purpose building containing picnic space, restrooms, warming house / program room and storage serves as the focal point.  An asphalt loop trail system provides access to the various recreational amenities within the park and ties into the future regional trail system.

Also included in the plan is a large play area focusing on interesting and challenging equipment for the elementary to teen age group, along with equipment for the younger users, and an arbor seating space located between the two.  Other amenities include a paved hockey rink for year-round use, double tennis courts with bouncewall, a secondary parking lot and a centralized open green space for ball play, soccer and other informal uses.  To the north of Partridge Road is a more natural piece of property that would contain natural surfaced trails, a horseshoe court and a bench seating area overlooking some ponds and natural areas.

This overall park master plan has an estimated construction budget of approximately $2.3 million, with the plan being phased in as budgets allow.
